Fondren Receives 2025 MFLA Educator of Excellence Award

Cody Fondren, Instructor II of German and Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures, received the 2025 Educator of Excellence Award for Post-Secondary Educators at the Mississippi Foreign Language Association Conference, held November 7–8 at Mississippi College.

The award recognizes outstanding language educators at the community college, college, and university levels across Mississippi who demonstrate excellence in language teaching.

In addition to his work in curriculum development and student engagement at Mississippi State, Fondren serves on the MFLA board as Social Media Chair and is President of the Mississippi Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of German. His leadership at both the state and institutional levels reflects a continued commitment to strengthening world language education across Mississippi.

The department congratulates Fondren on this honor and his ongoing contributions to the profession.
